Galentine's Day - Using Urban Chic

Hey everyone! Today, I'm bringing a fun pocket page I created with the Urban Chic collection I won from the We R Memory Keepers blog! They were so generous & it was super fun winning such a lovely prize. I made a video of the unboxing here.

I used the fun, girly collection to create a pocket page for Galentine's day with my friends earlier this year.

I just adore the donut paper! And the Thickers are a great size!

This was a super fun outing with no kids - maybe a new tradition?!

All the Heart Eyes - A Stick It Down sketch

And just like that, it's Monday again.

But at least it is more fall-like in Middle Tennessee today!

I have a page using some new, fallish papers today that I created with a sketch from Stick it Down. I recently bought this stack from Michael's - it was one of their "hot deals." I have some plans for it and a happy mail soon... But in the meantime, I figured I could pull the non-fall papers out and use them for my boys. I love this *on trend* color pallet of orange and blue lately. It always reminds me of my high school alma mater.

Here is the original sketch:

And I definitely can't take credit for the title. I've seen it a few different places recently, but I will say the first place I ever saw it was from a young girl, Megan, in our Scrap Gals Facebook group. I gushed over it and she said, "You can use it!" And I've been waiting for the perfect time! I use the heart eyes emoji for my loves all the time!

I loved the background behind the photos in the sketch, but I didn't want flowers on my page of my baby in the tub, so I used a free cut file I had downloaded, and just welded it together a few times on my cricut. I tied some ribbons on it for some texture. I didn't have any blue letters, and I didn't want a cut title, but I remembered I had these double-sided sticky Thickers, and some blue glitter - boom perfect!

This little dude has grown so much since he sat back in a baby bath tub! **Insert all the crying eyes!**

Supplies:
Paper - Craftsmith at Michael's Pumpkin Spice
Thickers - American Crafts

All Around Best Bro - a Lasting Memories challenge

Happy Sunday everyone!

My goodness, I cannot believe September is almost over, along with my first month on the Lasting Memories Design Team. Time flies when you're having fun!

Today I have another layout I created for this week's challenge - "All Around". The theme is directions - anything goes. Or you can use circles. I actually used the word Around in my layout.

My sweet scrappy friend/pen pal, Cherylsent me a fun happy mail a while back that had these great 6x6 papers in it. We both have boys to scrap about, so they're perfect.

A few weeks ago, I was listening to Live Inspired and Tracie was talking to Crafty Jen Schow and mentioned that she did a YouTube series where she demonstrated different ways to use her 6x6 paper pads. I watched one of the videos, and it did have good ideas. I'm sure she probaby used them this way as well, I just layered them all behind one another to spread across the page. I actually cut some of the larger bits that were hidden behind layers to paper save.

I have seen this little quote about brothers and superheros pop up in different places, and I knew I wanted to incoporate it into my page. However, while I was designing the page, I really didn't have a space for it. So, I improvise. I just created a 6x8 page, and I plan to mirror against my 12x12 in my album.

I used my Cricut and free fonts from dafont.com to create the page. I have had the chipboard elements for forever - I picked them up from a Scrapbook Clearance store a while ago. They went perfectly with the great superhero papers. I cut the capes from one of the superhero papers.

I super love how the spread turned out. I hope you have been inspired to create with us over at Lasting Memories!

Start Smart, Stay Rad - a LGS sketch

Hey everyone!

Today I'm bringing a page I really enjoyed making with a lovely sketch from over at Let's Get Sketchy.

I just started on the month of February - my how these two littles have grown since then!

Here is the original sketch:

I've really enjoyed layering lately, and this was the perfect sketch for that! I'm not sure it comes across in the photo but the word smart is gold metallic (a fun little happy mail goodie), and I really enjoy that look with the colorful papers and b&w photo. I also had fun with some black splatter on my layout, which I don't do a ton.

Here is the little tag at the bottom. I love how it was a good continuation of the title, Start Smart, Stay Rad!
I used the staples, green paper and twine and a gold arrow to draw it together with the layer from up top.

Supplies:
Paper - My Minds Eye
Twine - Michaels
Washi tape - Recollections by Michaels
Puffy arrows - Freckled Fawn
Stay Rad tag - Heidi Swapp
Black round alphas - Studio Calico
gold smart, ampersand and flower all happy mail goodies - sources unknown!

Star Gymnast - a Picture This Challenge!

Happy Hump Day!

Today I have my first 6x12 page! I feel like this is a very on trend size of page right now, and I've been meaning to try it for a while!

The lovely ladies at Picture This have challenged us to use stars on our layouts this month. This worked perfectly for this little page because Heath's gymnastics ribbon said he was a star!

I used my new Fuse to create the 6x12 page protector for this page. Easy as pie!

All the gymnastics photos are full of primary colors, so it's hard to work with scrapping sometimes!

I enjoyed throwing this quick little page together for my little STAR!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Crate Paper
Stickers - Studio Calico
Doily - Michaels
Robot sticker - American Crafts

The Wild is Calling - a Lasting Memories Challege

Hey hey hey everyone!

Today I'm bringing you my second creation for the Lasting Memories design team and their September directional challenge. Today's prompt is the direction of IN. My photo was taken while I was IN a kayak on a recent camping trip at Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee.

I have been saving this delicious wood grain textured white cardstock that I found at the Studio Calico warehouse sale for just the right page. I thought a beautiful tree photo would be perfect, combined with the Echo Park Happy Camper Collection!

I also created a corresponding 6x8 pocket page with other photos from that weekend. They tell the story of how my husband and I were kayaking, and he had just jokingly called me Pocahontas. So, naturally, I was singing Paint with all the Colors of the Wind, and two bald eagles flew over our heads! It was super cool. Bald Eagles next at Reelfoot Lake, and they take some in when injured.

The yellow photo is a screen shot I took from the Crate Paper Instagram feed. Those trees growing out of the lake are amazing.

Supplies:
Patterned paper and stickers - Happy Camper by Echo Park
Cardstock, wood grain & alphas - Studio calico
Flair - Scrapbook Circle

Beach Vibes, My Tribe - A Challenge YOURself layout

Happy Friday!

So so glad it's the freakin' weekend!

I'm also very happy with how my layout for today's post turned out! I used a lovely prompt from the wonderful blog, Challenge YOURself, to use sewing on a layout, as well as include a picture of myself.

Well, amidst all this fall crafting going on in my house, I have snuck in a pic from our recent beach trip!

I actually mentioned earlier in the year that one of my scrappy goals was to use more sewing on my pages, so this challenge was perfect for that #goal! Here's a close up of my sewing. I just ran lengths of wooly lime twine into my sewing machine as I zig-zag stitched around the border & I love the texture it added!

Originally the title was "My Tribe," but Beach Vibes just hit me & I had to go with it!

A few ephemera, some strategically placed to cover a body bit that was not so flattering, and boom - page done! I even used a negative from the cute little sun tab cut file I cut for my TN for this trip. I'm really enjoying my layers lately!

Supplies:
Striped patterned paper and vellum - Studio Calico
all other Patterned paper - Pink Paislee Citrus Bloom
Paper ephemera - Pebbles
Twine - Michaels
glitter alphas - Heidi Swapp
Transparent alphas - Amy Tangerine

Sparkly projects

Hey hey hey!

Just popping in to bring you a couple of small projects I've been working on lately.

First up, I won the entire Urban Chic collection from the WeRMemory Keepers blog! It was so exciting!

I decided to share the love and create some mini pocket letters for a couple ladies in my Happy Mail group. It was my first mini PL, and it was so fun!

I hope they enjoy these little goodies!

Next up, I have created the cover and title page for my October Daily this year! I had a little bit of a hard time finding an appropriate 6x8 album, but I found this lovely Simple Stories Album on Amazon.

This crepe paper/tulle/glitter ribbon will be a recurring Halloween theme this year. I sewed the crepe paper to the tulle, then I sewed the glitter ribbon & then I hot glued the entire thing to the album.

I cut the numbers from cardstock and just mixed my own black and silver glitter mix & adhered it with hot glue! I will have to be sure to not pack it with my decor that is stored in a hot attic!

I also created my title page. It was a lovely surprise to find the inside of the album was black and white polka dot! I love it!

I can hardly bring myself to use this gorgeous MME paper! I kept it relatively simple so the paper's beauty will shine.

I also am so all about sequins lately, of course I have to have a sequin pocket on my title page. The pocket card is Becky Higgins - another Halloween collection I super love.

I found a super cute pack of Halloween buttons at Tuesday Morning, so that's where the spider & spider web came from in the shaker pocket.

I can't wait to fill up this little album with October fun and make it chunky chunky chunky!

Supplies:

Mini PL - all paper Urban Chic from WeRMemory Keepers

Halloween album - Simple Stories
Glitter Ribbon from Dollar General
Something Wicked paper - My Mind's Eye
Hocus Pocus Card - Becky Higgins Project Life
Shaker sequins & confette - Dollar Tree

Go on a Journey - a Scrapbook Circle Sketch

Today I'm bringing you a campking/kayaking layout I created with a sketch from Scrapbook Circle.

Here is the original sketch:

This layout was also created with the lovely prompts from Picture This, use a male in your life & tell a story about him through your layout, and Paper Issue's issue of the Unbeleafable Outdoors! These are my boys & we LOVE to be outdoors. This is from a camping trip.

I really love the Echo Park Happy Camper collection, and I have been saving it for this camping trip we took! This was my boy's first time in the kayak. So fun!

I got this little saying from Crate Paper's Instagram feed a while ago. I just screen shot it and printed it with my other photos.

I layered the title veneer under the transparent letters for a little dimension. Man, kayaking around Reelfoot Lake was so super fun - it's an amazing park. These cypress trees grow up out of the middle of the water and the roots are super cool and creepy. I told my husband I felt like Ariel in the "Kiss the Girl" scene in some of the waterways! haha!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper and camping stickers - Echo Park Happy Camper
Cardstock and geotag brads - The Paper Studio
Cork Stickers - Crate Paper
Vellum, tranparent alpha and wood veneer - Studio Calico

Lil' Studs - a Stuck?! sketch

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I'm bringing you a layout from our recent trip to the beach. I didn't get too many good ones of my boys together - they're just at difficult ages for that right now, but I love this one!

I used ths month's lovely sketh from Stuck?! sketches.

Here's a couple of detail shots:

Bath Babe

Happy weekend, friends!

Just a quick pop in to share a fun little layout I did of my bathtime babe. I took this photo on my iPhone at bathtime a few weeks ago & really loved it. I started the layout with a completely different idea (from a colorful mood board), but changed my mind! I wanted a brighter, whiter layout to really focus on this sweet baby face.

I delved into my scrap paper stash and used some oldie papers. I also used a fun, free cut file from the lovely blog Spiegal Mom Scraps. That little scribble circle is such fun!

The dots were created with perler beads. Such a fun and easy little trick.

Supplies:
White cardstock: Bazzil
Animal paper - Creative Imaginations
Rainbow paper, washi and alphas - Studio Calico

Get UP! A Lasting Memories Challenge

Happy Hump Day (how is it hump day already?!)!

Today I have a very exciting announcement. I'm a new member of the Lasting Memories Design Team!

The sweet owners, Michele and Karen asked me to be a member of the Design Team, as they new me from a previous Guest Design Team contribution I did in June. This challenge blog is so wonderful and inspiring, I had to say yes! I am part of Team A, but I may very well be creating with Team B at times because the prompts are so fun!

I wish I could have made this announcement the day of the blog post announcing my new status, but we were out of town "roughing" it with no wifi! So here's a link to the wonderful Lasting Memories blog & my first challenge on their design team.

This month's theme is Directions & the first challenge is about going up. My layout is about GETTING UP on Christmas morning!

I just love my son's sweet little face as he's coming down the stairs to see what Santa left!

I can't get enough glitter Thickers, am I right?!

I popped up my sequins with some little foam adhesives. You can never have too much glitter or sparkle!

Yesterday Halloween crafts, today Christmas - You never know what I'm creating when! Haha

Supplies:

Background paper - The Paper Studio
Red glitter Thickers - American Crafts
Sequins - Basic grey
Frame - Simple Stories Say Cheese collection

Pumpkin Pocket Letter

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. We had an awesome adventure, and I'm sure you'll be seeing pages with photos from it soon.

Today I have for you a Pumpkin themed Pocket Letter I created for a swap on Pocket Letter pals. I really love how it turned out! Sorry - I find it so hard to photograph page protectors!

I used a little poem song I've always known since I was little, and which my son loves to sing this time of year.

I created this graveyard gate scene with my Cricut and some Jolee's pumpkins, because my partner said she loves Jolee's.

Nothing is complete without a shaker pocket these days!

I got to use some of my Harry Potter papers for the witch line.

You'll be seeing lots of this crepe paper. I think I warned you of that last post!

I used some dollar general straws for that little piece.

I used sequins for the pumpkins rolling out of sight, hoping they look small!

Here's the back final product

I had a lot of fun creating this PL and I made a video walk through of the final product as well. Gimme a thumbs up if you care! :)
